Our Kids Place has recently been approved for grades one to three! Starting in Sept. 2021, we will be offering services to students up to third grade. Inquire about packages and curriculums today.

We know many families are concerned about new hybrid learning plans for the Fall and how their children will adapt. OKP will now be offering tutoring services for the Fall. This will focus on Math and Literacy skills, however differentiated instruction plans can be discussed.

Parents can choose from two programs, a week day model (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm) OR a weekend model (Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm).

Call or email for more details!

OKP is now offering Back-Up Care for students who will be participating in hybrid learning plans in the Fall. School-Age children are welcome to participate. Contact our office for more information today!

On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, we are having a car parade so the families can see their classroom teachers.

The meeting time will be at 12:50 pm in the parking lot. (line up in your car alongside the yellow house) We will then have the parade around the lot. The parade will begin at 1:00 pm. All afternoon virtual lessons will be CANCELLED on this day. If you would like, you can make signs to hang out of your car for the teachers.

Please make every effort to attend as we would love to see the children in person and celebrate the teachers in a special way. Reminder, we are all still encouraged to maintain social distancing, please adhere to these policies by wearing a mask and keeping your distance. You can talk to your little ones about waving to their friends and teachers from a distance. OKP gear is encouraged but not mandatory.

Thank you,

Ms. Lorraine

On behalf of the entire team here at Our Kids Place, we’d like to say thank you for your loyalty and support. Our lives have been impacted greatly in the past several months, but we are working hard to evolve so we can continue to be a support system for you and your families. Part of this has been serving you in new, innovative ways. Currently, we are offering remote learning at home with our students and teachers.

OKP has always prided itself on promoting safety and cleanliness in our program, so many of these “new” health practices are not new for us. Looking ahead to when we can return to school, we have put more detailed policies in place to ensure the health and safety of our students. We plan to:

-Conduct more detailed wellness checks (including taking students temperatures upon entering the building.)
-Providing more handwashing/ sanitizing stations throughout the building.
-Making our classrooms more conducive to practice social distancing.
-Providing individually packaged meals.

Again, we thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you all again soon!

Be well!

Merlyn Peters, CEO

I trust this email finds you well and healthy. We have tried sending this email all morning without success.
If you are receiving this email, the NYC Department of Education has decided to close schools in light of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City. In order to ensure students are on task with the curriculum, we have taken the liberty of creating an at-home curriculum that follows this week’s focus question, “What happens when we put things in the water?”.

For each day we have a theme related activity, book (including a link to an audio version accessible on YouTube) and math activity. We encourage you to continue reviewing your sight words at home.

Resources from the Hewlett-Woodmere School District can be found at:

Also, the Department of Education has created a letter and resource packet for early learners. Please use this as an additional resource. The link can be found below.

In such times, Our Kids Place worries about the social and emotional stability of its young learners, therefore, we will be meeting tomorrow with staff to plan effective ways to continue our work to support our young learners and their families.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank You!
